LIFE IN LYCRA
A dance duel between a ballerina and a choreographer.
Wearing nothing but outrageously tight Lycra costumes, two characters battle for the audience’s attention. Through a mix of sharp words, bold gestures, and the assistance of Artificial Intelligence, they embark on a journey through the twists and turns of contemporary dance—revealing just how silly it can be to take things too seriously.
Beneath its apparent lightness, the work raises questions about power dynamics and control within the world of performance.

The jury saw that the performance was mature and that the craftsmanship of Andrea was on a high level. The performance had several strong elements, such as timing and performance quality. It was playful, smartly constructed, and had many layers. The text was well made; the jury thought it could be helpful to work with a dramaturg or writer to develop this element for future projects. It was brave to use humour, which worked out incredibly well. The jury was curious if the piece would also work for people without dance knowledge since it uses many references, but they are convinced that everyone can be engaged and have a good laugh. The jury looks forward to following Andrea’s development.
